Summary:
Agricultural commodity markets are driven by products and information. Today, the nation’s data and statistical agencies face unprecedented pressure to assess their data products and reduce costs. As a result, there has been suspension, aggregation, and even in some cases, an elimination of data and statistical assessments critical for alleviating market volatility and uncertainties. The expert speakers will discuss the role of federal data sources in agricultural commodity markets – including dairy, livestock, and major grain and oilseed crops.

  • Katherine Smith, Executive Director, Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics
  • Steve Meyer, President, Paragon Economics
