New AAEA Section: Land, Water and Environmental Economics (ENV)

AAEA has approved a new Section entitled, Land, Water and Environmental Economics, which will be designated by the acronym, ENV.

The initial leadership of the ENV Section is as follows:
Chair: Kevin Boyle, Virginia Tech, kjboyle@vt.edu
Chair-elect: Benjamin Gramig, Purdue University, bgramig@purdue.edu
Secretary/Treasurer: Robert Johnston, Clark University, rjohnston@clarku.edu
AAEA Board Liaison: Scott Swinton, Michigan State University, swintons@anr.msu.edu

ENV Business Meeting
The Section's first business meeting will be at the 2013 AAEA & CAES Joint Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, August 4-6. Please plan to attend and help chart the future of this Section.

Track Sessions
The ENV Section will sponsor two sessions at the 2013 AAEA & CAES Joint Annual Meeting in Washington, DC:
  •  “The Economics of Executive Order 13508: The Chesapeake Bay and Implications for Large-Scale Watershed Management” (Rob Johnston, Organizer, rjohnston@clarku.edu)
  •  “Bioenergy Policy Amid Missing Markets, Changing Technology and Environmental Trade-offs” (Ben Gramig, Organizer, bgramig@purdue.edu)
If you would like to present a paper in either of these sessions, or have someone who you would like to recommend for a presentation, please contact Rob or Ben.

How to Join ENV
You can join the Land, Water and Environmental Economics when you renew your AAEA membership for 2013 or if you've already joined for 2013, you can add a Section membership through the online form in the My Account page or by contacting the AAEA Business Office.
