The Graduate Student Section (GSS) has established a Graduate Student Webinar Series to provide students an opportunity to (i) gain experience presenting to an academic audience outside of their department and (ii) receive feedback on their papers.
Webinars will take place on Friday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 pm ET. This is something the GSS hopes to continue year-round on a bi-weekly basis. However, given the upcoming holiday season and the considerable interest from our membership, we have scheduled five seminar talks for the fall semester (all from 3:00-4:00 pm ET):
- October 29
- November 12
- November 19
- December 3
- December 10
Webinars will consist of three, 20-minute presentations (15-minute presentation and five minutes Q&A). The GSS will share the meeting details through their listserv, the AAEA newsletter, and their Twitter account (@AAEA_GSS).
Graduate students: The GSS encourages all graduate students to participate, particularly if you have an upcoming conference, thesis/dissertation defense, or seminar talk and are looking for a place to rehearse and receive feedback. If you are interested in presenting in next semester’s GSS Webinar Series, please fill out the form below at your earliest convenience. The form will take five to ten minutes to complete, as it requires your contact information, presentation title and abstract, and availability on Friday afternoons from January-April 2022.

Thank you for your time, and we hope that you consider attending an upcoming GSS Webinar. If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to reach out to Aaron Staples (staple71@msu.edu) or Megan Hughes (hughe232@purdue.edu).
Thank you!
