Travel Grants for Economists from Low Income & Lower-Middle Income Countries
During the 2014 AAEA Annual Meeting in
Minneapolis, AAEA welcomed the 2014 recipients of the Travel Grants for
Economists from low and lower-middle income countries. These individuals
were selected from more than 40 applicants to the travel grant program
to attend the meeting, network, and present their research in a Selected
Paper session. More information about past winners of the LI-LMI Travel
Grant program and the 2015 call for nominations can be found on the AAEA website.

Losing the Plot? Agricultural Research Policy and the 2014 Farm Bill

Following over a decade of declines, the 2014 Agricultural Act
yielded modest increases in research and development (R&D) funding.
The increase is insufficient to reverse the decline in the U.S. share of
global public food and agricultural R&D, and failing to replenish
the R&D stock may have profound adverse consequences for the
competiveness of U.S. agriculture.
