Call for Papers: Online/Remote Learning and Teaching Special Issue

With the increasing issues surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and need for social distancing, many universities and colleges have suspended in-person classes and moved toward online and remote learning and teaching. This event has had a significant impact on academic programs, as many instructors are preparing online and remote learning and teaching for the first time. Furthermore, this transition provides a unique opportunity for innovation in learning and teaching online and remotely. Applied Economic Teaching Resources wants to help address this need by publishing a special issue on innovations, teaching strategies and issue related and involving online and remote learning and teaching. Topics include but are not limited to pedagogy, case studies, online learning activities, online assessment, preparation for transitioning to online and remote teaching, the impact of COVID-19 on learning and teaching, and other pertinent topics. In addition, we encourage commentary submissions from academics and researchers on their “real-time” learning outcomes in this environment. That is, the learning outcomes and hard lessons learned of what to do and what not to do that could be useful to the readers of AETR going into the future.

The AETR is accepting submissions for this special issue that are in the areas of applied economics, agricultural economics, agribusiness or a related field. Submissions will be accepted for the special issue through September 1, 2020, but we highly encourage submissions much sooner to be able to help readers benefit from accepted submission. All articles will go through an expedited review process to make accepted articles (and materials) available online via Advanced Access for readers as soon as possible.
