C-FARE –AAEA invites members of the
profession to submit peer or self-nominations for the Advisory Committee on
Agriculture Statistics to info@cfare.org.
The
USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is seeking the nomination
of individuals to serve on its Advisory Committee on Agriculture Statistics
which advises the Secretary of Agriculture on the scope, timing, content, etc.,
of the periodic censuses and surveys of agriculture, other related surveys, and
the types of information to obtain from respondents concerning agriculture. The
Committee also prepares recommendations regarding the content of agriculture
reports and presents the views and needs for data of major suppliers and users
of agriculture statistics. The September 18, 2014 Federal Register Notice was
issued on September 8, 2014 by Renee Picanso who is the Associate Administrator
of the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Please send information for nominees (name and contact) to represent the agricultural
and applied economics profession on the Advisory Committee to the Council on
Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (email: info@cfare.org) by October 8 at the very latest. The September 18,
