Webinar: March 2019 Farm Income Forecast

ERS releases farm income statement and balance sheet estimates and forecasts three times a year, in February, August and November.  These core statistical indicators provide guidance to policy makers, lenders, commodity organizations, farmers, and others interested in the financial status of the farm economy. ERS's farm income statistics also inform the computation of agriculture's contribution to the gross domestic product of the U.S. economy.  During this webinar, economist Carrie Litkowski provides the first forecast for 2019.

Call for Abstracts: 2019 ISESSAH Workshop

Authors should submit abstracts by the 6th of March 2019, using the following link.

Call for abstract:

We are welcoming all abstracts in economics and social sciences of animal health, and specially these exploring the themes of the conference: “One Health”, “Zoonotic,” and “Global Burden of Animal Disease.” Abstract may focus on methods and techniques, development of theory, education and/or policy. Applications particularly appreciated include:

• Animal health surveillance, control and public policies
• The role of human behaviour, institutions, market, policies… in the ecology of animal diseases
• Interface between animals, humans, and the environment
• Measurement of disease burden and resources to manage diseases.

Abstracts should have

• a title of maximum 150 characters (including spaces),
• an interpretative summary of maximum 400 characters (including spaces, highlighting the practical implications and/or the impact of the work and its link with the themes of the congress,
• an abstract body of maximum 2,000 characters (including spaces) OR an abstract body of maximum 1,500 characters (including spaces) and a graph, table or picture. The body should include the usual items: introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion.
  
  

Abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific expert panel and will be selected for oral, flash talk and poster or poster presentation based on the following criteria:

• Relevance of the research to the conference theme,
• Scientific quality of the research approach,
• Quality of the abstract writing, and
• A slight preference will be given to abstracts that summarize completed research compared to ongoing work.
  
  

Moreover, the panel will aim to achieve a balance in terms of geographical representation, gender and level of seniority.

Authors will be notified of the decision early April 2019.
