AAEA Trust/AARES Heading North Award Winner Announced

Congratulations to Dr. Bethany Cooper from Centre for Water Policy and Management at La Trobe University! She is the winner of the AAEA Trust/AARES Heading North Award. She will be joining AAEA in DC and presenting her paper "Heterogeneity of Australian Urban Water Customers: A Scale Extended Latent Class Choice Model Approach".

This award is supported by the AAEA Trust and the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society. The AAEA Trust and AARES provide travel funding for a young professional from the United States to attend the AARES Annual Meeting, as well as a young professional from Australia or New Zealand to attend the AAEA Annual Meeting. The winners of these scholarships (which are known as the Heading North and Heading South awards) receive support from both the Trust and AARES to offset the travel costs and registration fees associated with attending each meeting.

False Housing Requests from Exhibitor Housing Services (EHS)

It has been brought to our attention that a company named Exhibitor Housing Services (EHS) is contacting individuals requesting final housing information on behalf of the Marriott Wardman Park. AAEA’s name, logo, and/or contact information is not included on any of the forms, but it may be confusing since our Annual Meeting is taking place at the Marriott Wardman Park.

AAEA and the Marriott Wardman Park are not affiliated with this company in any way. Do not send any personal information, including credit card information to EHS. If you receive an e-mail from EHS, please forward to the AAEA Business Office at info@aaea.org.

Thank you for your attention to this issue.
