Submissions Open for 2011 ASSA Annual Meeting

If you are interested in having your work presented at the 2011 ASSA Meeting in Denver, you can submit a proposal for consideration as an AAEA session as part of ASSA. Due to the broad audience that attends ASSA, those proposals that jointly serve the interests of the AAEA and other economists more broadly are sought. The deadline to submit a proposal is April 26, 2010.

Webinar on Helping Applied Economists Secure AFRI Funding

C-FARE and NAAEA are presenting a webinar focused on helping applied economists secure AFRI funding from USDA-NIFA. The webinar, titled "Applied Economic Profession in a New Era of Competitive Grants - A Review of How to be Successful as a Multi-Disciplinary Scientist," will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2:30–4:00 pm EDT. According to its description, the goal of this webinar is "to provide a forum for strategic positioning of applied economists in a new era of grants by providing insight focusing on how to be the lead PI or a member of multi-disciplinary projects."  You can find the full description of the event after the jump.

Submit an Abstract for EAAE/AAEA Seminar in Germany

AAEA has partnered with the European Association of Agricultural Economics (EAAE) for the first joint EAAE/AAEA seminar (115th EAAE Seminar). The seminar will be held September 15-17, 2010 in Freising, Germany, near Munich at the Technische Universität München, in English. You have the chance to submit an abstract to the seminar until March 31, 2010.

Help AAEA Support Economists from Africa

You can help AAEA support an economist from Africa by nominating them to receive a travel grant to attend the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting. The AAEA Foundation will provide funding to offset travel costs for those selected. The nominees should be professional economists from Africa who are currently working in the field of agricultural, development, environmental, food and consumer, natural resource, regional, rural, and associated areas of applied economics and business.

Travel Grants Available for 2010 Joint Annual Meeting

Interested in attending the 2010 AAEA, CAES, & WAEA Joint Annual Meeting in Denver this summer? Looking for some help covering the cost of traveling to Denver? AAEA is offering Travel Grants to select graduate students and young professionals. The AAEA Foundation will reimburse each accepted applicant up to $400 to assist with the cost of travel to Denver for the Joint Annual Meeting.
